“La Grotta della Faina” is an integral part of the farm “Martinelli Laura“, a small family-owned company active in the gradual recovery of abandoned land, in the enhancement of the environment and the quality of local products. The company is specialized in the production of honey and one has two apiaries located 550 m and the other at 1100 m above sea level; It produces small fruits such as raspberries, wild strawberries, blackberries and currants that are sold fresh or made into jams and syrups, also with the inscription to “coltivatori custodi” has officially an orchard where grow varieties of apples, pears and cherries native of the Garfagnana. Every year is made a rich garden where the guests can also pick up the fruits. Still with the “coltivatori custodi” the farm pruduces the “formenton eight rows” ancient and precious quality of corn typical of the Garfagnana. A small ground breeding of chickens provides fresh eggs every day and a vineyard with excellent exposure makes possible the production of wine. The company likes the environment that welcomes and seeks to respect it by using energy from renewable sources such as photovoltaic panels, solar panels and biofuels.
